More authority for industry association NVRD
Challenge
Help us become better recognized as a driving force and authority in solving circular waste issues.
Solution
Due to the many responsibilities NVRD had taken on as an industry association, their vision had become fragmented, and the brand lacked clarity and authority. This problem was further amplified by the absence of a unified visual language; there was no clear link between the various activities and platforms. As a result, NVRD often wasn’t visible enough to its members as the representative of the industry.
Starting from a brand analysis and interviews with members, we developed a manifesto that highlights the core values of connection and knowledge sharing. This manifesto makes NVRD’s role as a ‘driving force for a future-proof Netherlands’concrete and tangible. The new positioning underscores that NVRD, as a leading knowledge source on waste issues, is at the forefront of circular developments.
To make the connection with members more visible, we mapped the equipment used in the field. The robust and indestructible nature of this machinery formed the basis for a graphic style that reflects the decisiveness and no-nonsense mentality of the waste collection sector. Message and design together send a powerful signal and convey ambition.
This approach creates a unique and distinctive communication style that is both recognizable and unmistakably NVRD. At the same time, it offers the flexibility to effectively tackle diverse communication challenges. Across all channels and platforms—and through events, regional boards, and Young NVRD—a clear signature has been developed that enables the sector to communicate with strength and clarity.
Impact
In addition to improved visibility of NVRD among all stakeholders and political bodies, there is now a stronger sense of connection among members. There is more pride in being part of NVRD and even greater support for the shared mission of a future-proof, zero-waste Netherlands.
Communication of initiatives increasingly runs through NVRD, which provides access to solid design and a user-friendly online implementation linked to the NVRD website. As a result, the industry can speak with one voice and powerfully express itself on the many urgent topics it faces.

Because NVRD operates across a wide range of communication platforms—including various events—it was immediately clear that their communication tools needed to be flexible and versatile, without losing a recognizable NVRD identity.

We’re incredibly happy with our rebranding—both the process and the result. Short lines of communication, highly flexible, a pleasantly critical approach, and creative craftsmanship. A collaboration that definitely leaves us wanting more!
